Lynwood Inn

The Lynwood Inn was a dream come true for our weekend stay in York! Cathy was absolutely stellar and we felt truly cared for the entire time that we were there. The location is perfect, just a couple of mins from short sand beach, the rooms are spacious and the balcony was lovely. We will absolutely be coming back!

My girlfriend and I came up from Boston for the holiday weekend and had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Lynwood Inn. It was a quick hour-and-a-half drive, and everything from check-in to check-out was smooth and welcoming. We loved the convenient parking- there’s a private lot around the back, and we were given a car pass and two room keys upon arrival. Our room was at ground level, facing the main street, and it was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The room itself was spotless, spacious, and clearly recently updated- very comfortable and modern without losing cozy inn charm. The bathroom was equally clean and well-maintained. One of the best parts was the location. It’s just a short walk to the beach, and we had no trouble carrying all of our stuff over. We explored the nearby shops and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. Ending the day with a quiet, beautiful stroll back to the Lynwood Inn made the whole experience feel even more special. A huge shoutout to Kathy, who runs the Lynwood Inn- she made us feel right at home and truly went above and beyond. Her care and attention made our stay not just pleasant, but genuinely memorable. Thank you, Kathy! We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly, highly recommend staying here!

This inn is a shining example of hospitality Excellent location, comfortable rooms, nicely set up for sleeping, relaxing and food preparation. And then there's Innkeeper Cathy, a hostess who knows how to make you feel very special. Five stars are really not enough.

Just returned from a wonderful 4 days visit to the Lynwood Inn. There are new Innkeepers, Kathy & Dan, who are just the nicest and most accomodating people. They truly make you feel like a family member. We stayed in Room 1 which had recently been renovated and it was just perfect for a family of 4 plus a dog-- yes, they are dog friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Had a very beachy feel to it. There's a kitchenette w/a full sized fridge! We had a really large porch too. The location is very close to Short Sands Beach (may be a 5 minute walk). I understand they have recently renovated another room and during their quiet season, will continue renovating all the rooms. The price is just right here too. I really can't say enough good things about this Inn. Definitely worth checking this place out! You won't be sorry!

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed this place. The inn keeper Kathy was very nice and offered us wine for our anniversary. The room was spacious and had plenty of amenities. There was a little deck which was a perfect spot to sit and read or enjoy some fresh air. The location was top notch - a very short walk to Short Sands beach and town. Very quiet so I wouldn't stay here with kids but great for couples. Definitely recommended.

Todd the owner was very nice and helpful, this was our first time staying at the lynwood, room was clean,lots of room,beds were decent..the beach was only about a 5 minute walk, only problem was we were on the middle floor so it was super noise with the people above us,all hours of the night.. Also if you're trying to go down the stairs at night its a bit hard to see..other than that,I'd stay again! Highly recommend!

Cathy the innkeeper made us feel like we were visiting family. The hotel cost and proximity to the beach can’t be beat. They have added a seating area with a fire pit and grill. There are fridges, microwaves, and a two burner stove in all of the rooms. Although the rooms are a little dated, we have been coming to the Lynwood for years and love it here. We can’t wait to return next summer!

I rented a room here for the winter in 2014. (Little late on my review ) but I just wanted to give one because it was one my my favorite apartments I have ever had. The landlords were so nice and welcoming. Though it was small it was very quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend this place! Especially if you love living near a beach!

I stumbled upon the Lynwood Inn while looking for a place to spend a few nights with my daughters as a final trip before my oldest leaves for college. From the moment I spoke to Cathy and Dan I was blown away by their warmth, welcoming feeling and accommodating willingness to make our dates work! Upon arrival my daughters and I were blown away- the room far exceeded our expectations- it was newly renovated, had a full size fridge, a cook top, was airy and beautiful and had an amazing porch for us to enjoy. The location is amazingly and perfectly nestled between Long and Short sands beaches and a short walk to Nubble Lighthouse but is also peaceful and quiet because it’s set just enoug off the main path that there’s no traffic. It’s absolutely heavenly. On the day we checked out we were fortunate enough to see Cathy as we left and we had a lovely conversation which left me feeling like she was more family than owner of an inn we rented from . I can’t wait to return again many times over and I am beyond grateful that I stumbled upon this hidden gem. Thank you for providing us the perfect place in the perfect location for a wonderful family trip.
